At the end of August 2026, the II. Szentmiklós Open International Chess Tournament will once again welcome players from Hungary and abroad to compete in a strong FIDE-rated field.

The tournament is not only about serious competition and gaining valuable FIDE rating points, but also about creating a true multi-day chess festival where community, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences are just as important as the games themselves.

♟️ What to expect:
• 7-round Swiss-system tournament
• FIDE standard time control: 90 minutes + 30-second increment per move
• International field
• Opportunity to gain FIDE rating points
• Special prizes in several categories
• Saturday evening blitz tournament
• Optional team competition for clubs and groups of friends

? Prize Fund:
A total prize fund of 1,300,000 HUF, along with several category prizes and special awards, awaits the participants.

? Team Competition:
If at least 6 clubs register pre-declared 3-player teams, a separate team competition will also be organized, offering extra excitement, entertainment, and team spirit.

♨️ More than just chess!

The organizers place special emphasis on making the tournament a memorable experience for both players and accompanying family members.

All participants and their companions will receive free entry to the recently renovated Törökszentmiklós Thermal Bath and Spa throughout the entire tournament.
